For many farmers, the generation of renewable energy is already a supplement to food production on their farms. A biogas plant provides an additional source of income. Thus the available resources within the farm can be used on site to produce electricity and generate heat.

The advantages: the energy can be produced and stored regardless of the weather. Biogas plants also provide a relatively high energy yield compared to other bio-energies. This is a real economic alternative.
